Protest!

Here are some links of my brother protesting - and a news article that mentions his efforts. Though his passion often worries me, I am proud of the selfless effort and incredible time and resource he dedicates to community activism.

Here is a link to a Seattle News Broadcast regarding the closure of 5 Seattle schools - and also a link to a newspaper article on the same topic. My brother is featured in both.

And here is a link to a YouTube Video of protest in Seattle about the occupation of Gaza - I thought it was a rather innovative approach to protest....

HOT!!!

Look at my little sister all grown up, (and still only 3 feet tall).
She is all dressed up for her Snowball with her man Jimmy James Jellybeans. She is wearing something resembling an 8" heel and is still nowhere near the height of her boyfriend. I think she gets her good looks and fashion straight from me, her hero mentor and friend.

Puppy Parlor

I know all my posts as of late are puppy-centric.

I gave Puppy his first full body haircut. I don't think he enjoyed puppy parlor.

Puppy is training to be a circus performer. (Before the haircuut)

Update!

Hello friends!
(And as I say that, I realize, had I not lived in Israel, no one would read this...)

Happy 2009!
This year is starting off rather well for me!

At the end of last year, I was working 80 or so hour weeks, not sleeping, and pretty much burning the candle at all ends. I gave a few of my clients to friends, cleared my schedule - and committed to spending more time away from work.

I have been spending more time reading, sewing (....not sewing well......), snowboarding, skiing - and rock climbing. Idle time has been fantastic. I actually have been able to clean up my house, play scrabble.....and have time to think - instead of quickly moving from one project to the next deadline!

And!! On April 30th Gregg and I fly out to Australia - stopping for 6 days in Fiji - 11 days in New Zealand - and then finally landing in Melbourne, Australia. We have purchased one way tickets, and intend on spending about 5 or 6 months there. I have a great friend from college, Megan who is living there with her husband Zack. We will be living with them for the duration of our stay.

I really cant wait! The are intelligent, artsy, interesting ....After a 2008 of staring at a computer screen - I am ready to surround myself with an immersion of intellect and culture!!!

Work is also going well. I am slowly learning the art of raising my rates to get clients of a better caliber. The ones that pay more seem to respect their designers far more. They are more familiar with spending more to get more. Slowly I am building a great client base - which will hopefully follow me as I flit about the globe!

And finally - I have been reaching out and trying to communicate better to people whom I think I can better my relationships with. It may not work, but at least I am trying, communicating and putting the effort out there.

So, that's 2009 thus far in a nutshell! I hope everyone is well! Pics from the holidays coming soon!
